Friends, we all have friends. A true friend is one that will always tell you the truth and be upfront with you. He will do it in a loving kind way. How many true friends do you have? I may have three true friends. They are ones that can give me advice about my worst faults and I know they mean to help. I accept their comments no matter how painful they may be. You see Job had friends
Job 2:11 (KJV)
11 Now when Job’s three friends heard of all this evil that was come upon him, they came every one from his own place; Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite: for they had made an appointment together to come to mourn with him and to comfort him.
In today’s society so many of us have friends only because of what we can offer them. Ask anyone who has come into a great sum of money. They have friends coming out of the woodwork.
In the recent past I have experienced just these type of friends being invited to dinner so my “friend” could glean information on an issue that I would mediate, only to degrade me in front of several people with malice. He couldn’t be upfront enough to ask me my opinion at the dinner. Another “friend” that I spent a day with discussed the same issue and then to team up with the first man with an arsenal of comments, allegations and lies against me. Now these people seem to have a certain position of power within our church.
I was distraught about this until God impressed upon me to read the epistle of Jude.
Jude 1: 4, 8, 10 & 16 says:
4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.
10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.

You see, God was telling me that He knows they are there.
The verses He impressed upon me to read next gave me peace.
Jude 1:17,20-22 says:
17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, 21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:
You see the Love of Christ truly will make all things better. Fret not God IS still in control.
